I recently built a gameing rig... Well not really good in that gaming sense yet because I have no video card. I was able to start up and run windows and my computer in general by using an old Voodoo 3000 as a video out put, but everything you see on the monitor is in 8 bit color and my max and only resolution is 800*600. I know the video card is *** but im stating to think it's my motherboard, also the Voodoo is read as a 3DFX vga adapter and I've tried other drivers but this is the "best one" said by my OS. Please help all I need to know is if the *** I'm seeing on screen is due to my video card or something else.

make sure you installed themb chipset drivers first. also check to see if your cpu has a gpu built in a lot of the new intel and amd do have gpu built in. if there is a gpu built into your cpu download and install the drivers for it. the gpu will be faster then the old 3000 card. if not http://www.microcenter.com/product/378233/ZT-84SEH4P-FS...

Yes I've gone to their site for the drivers but when switching over to it the computer decides what I was using before was better and doesn't change over. And no I don't have an Apu I'm running a phenom ii x4 965 be and an AsRock 970 de3. Either way you are saying that the problem is the extremely old gpu and not my mobo?

Yes, its your GPU's problem, not the MOBO at all. You need to upgrade your GPU ASAP. You will see a HUGE difference even if you install the low end graphics card like smorizio listed, 8400 GS. But if you play demanding games like BF3, you probably want to go something like HD 7850 or GTX 660.
