Your alternator will give 13.8 to 14.4 bolts, not 12v. We'll round that to 14. Accounting for amplifier inefficiency and actual power draw requirements gives us 95 amps.

A quick and dirty way to check it to divide your amps fuse rating by 2. Add up the total if you have multiple fuses.


The above being said, you'll need to replace your vehicles alternator with a high performance alternator designed to handle big stereos.

Well my final design is not to put car stereo in a car. but setup an ac to dc converter to add a car sub to my 7.3 surround sound system. but i'm trying to go from 120vac to 12vdc
