What is a problem of tv lcd screen flashing

I have/bought new Sony bravia 32" and the screen was flashing and no sound, what is a problem? I can solve it?

Is it connected to an antenna with a good signal OR is it connected to a video player?

I had the same problem fixing a polaroid lcd, And I found bad capacitor in the power supply.

Yes, I've just finished fixing two 3 year old Viewsonic monitors with the capacitor issue -- but this a new telly and I wouldn't recommend digging around inside.

Obviously, if possible, back to the vendor.
