Dark streaks on new 1080p lcd?

I just purchased a Philips 42 inch 1080p 120hz lcd earlier and I noticed some dark patches all across the screen that are mostly vertical.

They are not really visible when looking at a fixed image, but the way to see it is when playing a game such as a first person game or racing game where you can scroll across the screen, for example when having the character look up at the sky and move the camera across the screen slowly.

Is this considered normal for these tvs?
