Could be the Power supply. If external, test it with a multimeter.

If that reads correct voltage, check inside monitor for bulging capacitors (easy and cheap to replace if you can solder) This step also applies to monitors with built-in power supply unit.

You may have to pay someone who's soldering skills are worth......while.

Actually given the cost of these screens versus the cost of repairs, I'd just live with pulling the power cord.
