Why does my sound feel faded

hey i got a pioneer receiver and on my first speakers it felt like the sound was blocked by a fog cloud or something thats the best way i can describe it. So i changed my speakers cuz i thought that was the problem but the new ones sound the same seems like the sound is faded istead of being direct and clear. im guessing its the pioneer reveiver.

any ideas ?
