I am trying to do a full system recovery on a Sony Vaio PCG-FXA36 that was given to me. I completed the all the steps up to the part where after disk 3 it asks to put disk one back in. I did that and now all that comes up is a Z: PROMPT. Unsure how to fix it so I can get windows back on my system. Any help?

When you say non sony discs, do you mean purchase an operating system from the computer store? What do you mean by install the drivers elsewhere? How do I do that from the Z: prompt?
