Trouble with a USB Hub when using a USB extender cable

Hi, I just bought a ATEN USB 20.HUB (UH-275), it was fine when I connect it alone, without an extended cable.
But then when I try connecting it through an 1.5meter USB cable, it says windows cannot recognize the USB device...
Why is it like that?

My USB cable is absolutely fine, no problem with it.

Power is sometimes not extended in the jumper cable and your hub may need power for the devices attached. You can still use it for the other devices and plug that one direct.
