Upgrade

Hello:
I am thinking of trying to upgrade my graphics output. Is it feasable to upgrade a Compaq Presario SR1750NX,3500+ Athlon64,2GB memory. Would I be better served with a newer unit for graphics and video work? Thank you for any advice!

That mobo has a PCIe x16 port. That will support the higher end video cards. The problem is your CPU. It will bottleneck any good video card. You can upgrade, but I wouldn't recommend going much more than an ATI 4550 because of your CPU. The cards run ~$45 on Newegg.com.
