Installation of O/S on NEW vsReformated HD

Is there a difference in the installation procedure of Windows XP on a brand new Hard Drive vs a reformated one?

I have a brand new Hard Drive and a reformated Hard Drive. Both ready for installation.

I also have one brand new Windows XP Home Edition Upgrade OEM just puerchased from New Egg and a Windows XP Home Edition Upgrade OEM installation CD with license that I purchased over 3 years ago. Oldie but goodie.

Is there any difference?

To answer your question, No.

If you still have the Operating System CD from the reformatted hard drive, be sure to have it handy. You will need it during the WinXP Home Edition Upgrade process (for verification).

You will probably have to format the brand new drive.
