To bad these are not for sale here. I would be interested in
a few of them.

As a rule, I never bid on ebay items that are also posted here
on our fine newsgroup. I've been against this practice from day
one (as are others) and refuse to support/encourage it.

Why clutter the the newsgroup with such postings?

I have no problem with the occasional post for eBay items.

As to no buying because they were posted here, looks like you are trying to
make a point. Up to you of course but seems like a fairly worthless point.

Because people on this newsgroup are highly likely to be interested in
buying such items. So they find out here about the fact that the items
are on offer, when otherwise they would never have known. This benefits
both the seller and the buyer - who may get a book he wants at a price
he could not match in a store. And anyone who isn't interested in buying
books on ebay can ignore the post - the title is clear enough. I would
put your question the other way around - why on earth should he NOT post
this here? It may well benefit several people in the group, and does no
harm to anyone else.

I agree. Also there is no grouop
"rec.games.miniatures.historical.marketplace" so how else are users of this
group to find out about sale items. As long as they are clearly described
in the subject line I see no problem.

Yes, Darryl, you're using valuable bandwidth that could have been used
