I have two files that I am unable to access, delete or rename.

If I try to open them a window comes up saying "access denied".

I have administrator rights but this does not help.

How can I get rid of these files?

Thanks

Thanks for that Kelly.

I should have said 'folder' not 'file'. It's just your regular folder
created to hold some documents but can't access.

Normally when you can't seem to access something or delete whatever, you
should consider going to safe mode... he he always works. XD

Hi,

See if taking ownership helps:

HOW TO: Take Ownership of a File or Folder in Windows XP

Note this one from KB308421:

If you are running Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, you must
start the computer in safe mode, and then log on with an account
that has Administrative rights to have access to the Security tab.
