Mouse/keyboard not working

Hi

Just installed windows Vista Home Basic on my DELL laptop earlier today. Everything appears to have gone fine, it has been on and off several times today, logs in fine, and restarts. But now the Vista login screen is up and my keybopard and mouse on my laptop aren't working. I have a wireless keyboard and mouse attached as well, but they aren't working either. My USB desktop keyboard had no luck as well.

Any ideas on how to fix it? The keyboard works in the BIOS, but stops functioning at the login. If I could get past that, I'd be fine. I would prefer not to have to reinstall vista if possible. I did some searching on the intyerent, but nothing helped.
