DIY Surveilance System

Dear Tom,
My apt. manager allows entry to my apartment without my knowledge. I know since I have found things changed from how I let them when I went out the door. Is there a DIY or off the shelf solution that will take a digital picture whenever the door is openned? Fry's had something like that a few years back but it is discontinued. I am pretty handy with a soldering iron, so DIY is OK.
