I just purchased a highpoint 2320 rocket raid card to use with my new asus P5Q3MB, but when installed the computer fails to boot. Is this a defective card?

Most likely incompatible MB. I have just gone through two MB and neither one are compatible. My suggestion is that you return the card and find another brand
