Samsung today said that it has produced the world's first working DDR3 DRAM module. The memory technology will replace today's DDR2 sometime next year with clock speeds of at least 800 MHz

This isnt the same thing as the DDR2 that was just annouced that will run at 800MHZ is it? I think that the RAM im referring to is Kingston HyperX. It currently will only work with the Asus P5AD2 -E-Premium.

Brent, dont you run this same board in your setup?

Yes, this is DRAM memory.

The operation speed of DDR3 doubles that of DDR2 and quadruples DDR.

We have all kinds of different motherboards and toys to test memory with here, including the P5AD2/G2 line series.

Though the standard is Intel.

naturally, with higher speed modules comes more latency. =)

I thought that I remembered seeing you mention that board. The reason that I was asking is because of some benchmarks that I got last night in SiSandra. I had my system OC'd big time and the benchmarks are so high I dont see how they could be correct. I repeated the test over and over and came out with similar scores. Tell me what you think about the accuracy of these. Oh, and Ive got them saved in case you want to see them.

My CPU is a P4 550{3.4} here are the settings that it was at when I ran the test.

CPU 3923.32 {15% OC)
CPU Frequency 280 X 14 {multiplier} {40% OC}
Memory BUS 373.23
Timmings 5-4-4-12

SiSandra Memory Bandwidth Test
{1) 9607 over 9853
{2} 9543 over 9765
{3} 9481 over 9777

All of these are well above 100% of estimated bandwidth. You should see my CPU scores.
