It's recorded in the event log.

Event Type: Information
Event Source: EventLog
Event Category: None
Event ID: 6005
Date: 15/07/2005
Time: 11:59:43 AM
User: N/A
Computer: SERENITY
Description:
The Event log service was started.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Also you can audit system events (type it in help).
