Last year there was only an option to get firewire 800 cables that were 9 pin to 9 pin and you had to buy a firewire 800 adapter card to install it on your computer, and my question is now i see that they have firewire 800 cables that are 9 pin to 6 pin and 9 pin to 4 pin and you no longer need a adapter card because most desktop pc's have a firewire 6 pin connection and most laptops have a 4 pin connction...So what is the point of getting a firewire 800 card adaptor to connect a 9 pin to 9 pin firewire 800 cable if you already can connect a 9 pin to a 6 pin without buying the card ?
