Recently replaced my original CR-ROM (IDE / PATA) with a SATA DVD/CD burner (Sony Optiarc AD7240s ).
The BIOS device list properly identifies the device on the SATA-Primary controller.
All works just fine ...
but the BIOS (update vers. A12) "Boot-Sequence " does NOT list the SATA-DVD/CD device.
The BIOS boot sequence lists " IDE CD-ROM device" ... which is NOT connected and has been removed.
(of course, also lists the floppy-drive and HDD-boot disk so system boots up fine to WinXP off HDD. )
( tested with different boot sequence orders :
1) floppy-disk 2) IDE- CD-ROM 3) HDD
1) IDE-CD-ROM 2) Floppy Disk 3) HDD )
because of this ... BIOS will NOT even TRY to boot from the SATA-DVD/CD player with a bootable CD ( say WinXp ).
This may not be a problem, but it does nag me a little bit..
Can the BIOS boot sequence be changed to properly reflect the SATA CD/DVD drive ?
