If anyone out there could give me any feedback on these two screens...

At a resolution of 1600 x 1200, for example what frequency can you get 60Hz or 75Hz...I'm more concerned about eye strain than colour and so on as when playing (another gamer! ;) ) I'm usually just over 60cm away from the screen.
So, I was asking myself is that too close for a 24"? Or should I go for a 22"
I was at first looking at the Samsung 2232BW the 22" monitor, but started asking myself if I shouldn't just go one step furthar for a 24". Currently using an awful screen 19" Samsung 940N.

Frequencies bear no significance to LCDs when it comes to eye strain. They are important only for motion smoothness but even then there are evidence suggesting that in reality all they can do is 60Hz, even those claiming 75Hz on the tin. Regarding your other question, since image quality is not that important go for the bigger size but bear in mind that you need to run it at native resolution (i.e. maximum) for best image quality so the matter of your rig being able to support high FPS at high resolutions arises.
