GameCom 367 Mic has no sound?

Hey everyone. Very odd and extremely frustrating problem. I got a new mic by plantronics called the GameCom367. Looked awesome. There were 2 plugs, not a usb. They went into the mic and headphone slots in the front of my pc. The headphones worked fine and have good sound. The microphone however has no sound. No one can hear me on steam, I tried many things. Here is the odd part. I have a voice changing software that can play my voice back to me. Nothing happens when I use it. But when I activate Windows sound recorder, then I can hear my voice being played back. I have tried all of the obvious when it comes to options and whatnot. So can anyone help me?

I am running windows vista home premium recently reformatted.

Im having the same problem I even ordered an Adapter from Amazon that makes the Microphone to USB 2.0 and that didn't work either.
