I have A7N8x Deluxe Asus motherboard with Athlon XP 1800, overclocked on 1700mhz, bios updated to the latest, with Kingston KVR400X64C3/256 400ddr x 2 rams in dual mode, I wanted to upgrade to 1gb so I bought the same exact Kingston rams only difference was C3A instead of C3 and chinese made instead of US, however everything went back to the beginning when I got my PC, it was so frustrating as the chipset of the motherboard didn't work with many different memory brands, and it took me sometime to get the right one, but now these 2 512mb doesn't work too, the computer boots itself, memory crashes all over the place,

I did try to increase to voltage of DDR from 2.6 to 2.8...

I tried to find any kind of tested memory reports for this motherboard on its site at ASUS, but they didn't post any reports in terms of which 512 400ddr memory to use with the board...

so I am just curious to see if there is anyone out there who is using dual ddr 400 512 mb rams here on this motherboard and have any experience specifically...

I recently instaled the micro ATX version of this mobo to replace a crapy mobo in a newer compaq system. I used 2 sticks of crucial pc3200 (2.256) with a sempron 3000+. However, I am using a cheap MSI FX5200 (starforce) for internet and word processing. They only Issue I have is its runnning at 46c and mobo at 43c. But its seems to be running with no probs and in dual mode. My research has shown it runs best with crucial, corsair and Geil memory. I did pull a gig of Geil PC3500 out of my gaming rig to test on it (out of curiosity), and it would crash constantly. It is rock stable with the Crucial pc3200 and does run unreal 2k3 with good frame rates.

so you are suggesting that TwinMOS(remarked CH-5), Micron and Winbond branded rams that I should try with in my case?

what is 'remarked CH-5' by the way?
