cd drives remembering info from previous disc

Hi,
have built a new PC and something strange is happening, if I insert a CD into the CD drive or DVD drive it reads the disc fine, then if I remove the disc and insert another, the PC is stil showing the information from the previous disc?? I have to restart before it will recognise the new content of the new disc.

I have set the hardrive up on IDE 1
with a CD reader/writer as Master and DVD reader as slave on IDE 2

System is AMD 64 3200+, Abit NF8 Mother board, PC3200 1GB Ram, Leadtek Geforce 6600GT GPU,

What type drive is it? I have a plextor that gave me the same problem until I checked off a option thats called "auto Notification"...this fixed my problem...see if there is an option like that in your cd drive options...if it has any.
