Brother HL-1850 ERROR CODES

Brother HL-1850 laser printer made an unusual noise, almost like non-metalic gears gnashing.
I now have a RED blinking warning message in the LCD area that toggles between: "SERVICE CALL" and "ERROR E52"

This code on a Brother HL-1650 mentions something about a laser unit motor. (The gnashing gears I mentioned??) I can find no mention of this code for a HL-1850 on the Internet. Just to contact an authorized Brother repair location.
