Help Needed with my Aiwa Cassette Deck

I have a ZL500 model Aiwa home stereo set which includes a dual cassette deck. The problem is the first deck cassette player head is stuck in the up position. It thinks there is a tape inside and will not releasing the head. When I turn on the power all the cassette deck does is makes a clicking noise. Niether deck one or two will play now.
Any help on how to make the players head release back down?
Any ideas would be helpful.
