On an XP Pro machine i've got 2 60 GB hard disk with 4
partitions...Trying to format the machine I wanted to
move my MP3's to my laptop using a USB2USB Laplink Cable
because networking on XP was off (for some reason)...So I
had to Move a SINGLE FOLDER with about 17 GB of MP3's
(the folder name was MY MEDIA)...After Cut/Pasting 4 GB's
with a third party program, that third party program
(software that came together with the USB Cable) stopped
responding...The PC still has the MP3's in the HDD
(running properties in the appropriate HD icon there is
18.7GB used space) but I can't see them (it is as if they
were removed)...
I tried to view it through the command prompt but still
the same, no MY MEDIA folder. How do I get XP to reveal
the folder so I can continue the move operation?

Thanx in advance...!

Your going to need to find an undelete program. I know there are some on download.com but I haven't come across any freeware. Try to write as little as possible to the disk(s) until you get your stuff back to prevent overwriting.

Just a word of advice for next time or anyone else planning to do something like this, do not MOVE large folders/files COPY them and then DELETE them after they are safely in there new home.
