What kind of video editing will you be doing? Is this for casual personal editing or will you be using this to make a living?

Have you visited the Laptops & Notebooks forum?

for now its just projects that I am working on to get a hang on directing and editing. no I will not be making a living with it this time around. I would probably look for a Desktop if that were the case.

Either the desktop or laptop with a quad CPU if you were going to use it to make a living.

For what you want that Sony Vaio will do fine. What price did Best Buy want?

around 800 from what I remember. I looked at a lot of computers that day

800 would be a good price for that laptop with a Blu-Ray drive and 4570 video.
