Will there be a massive difference between two LCD tvs, one with 10000:1 contrast ratio and the other with 40000:1 contrast ratio?

yes and no. A large contrast ratio will give you more distinction between white and black, which is important. The higher it is the blacker black looks and the whiter white looks. But other things fact in too, like color, brightness, and and especially gradation.

Thanks. Looks like someone finally got bored and came down to this end of the forums :P.

HA! I'm sort of new here. A friend asked me if I was a member, and curiosity made me come take a look. Got hooked right away! :D
