How to change from landscape to portrait on flat screen monitor that turns 90 de

How do I change the settings to go from landscape to portrait? I have an Hp flat screen monitor that turns 90 degrees. I have tried to do this through the menu button on the monitor but had no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

Usually you can do this from the video card setting. Between landscape or portrait. Do you have the exact model # of the monitor you have?
