Hey guys

When I wanted to re-install W7 I wiped all disc partitions, and then tried to install windows 7 (64 bit ultimate), but gets the following error:

Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate and existing system partition. See the Setup log files for more information.

Hope you can help

You didn't give a whole lot of useful information there but I'll take a guess.

You are installing from a USB stick which is plugged into a USB 3.0 port. This will not work. The Windows 7 installer does not suppport USB 3.0. You must plug the media into a USB 2.0 port and restart.

THANK YOU!
Just bought a USB 3.0 stick, and figured i'd have to use a 3.0 port.

I'll try that

K it's a 3.0 drive, but it seems that i'm using 2.0 ports, the only ports where it says 3.0 on mobo, says operating system missing, instead of starting W7 install.

Edit: Using a western digital green 1TB Hdd(2-3 years old), a z68 gigabyte mobo, i5 2500k cpu, 8 gig ram.
