1_What is your budget?
$1.5-$2k US

2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
Full size laptop, I prefer a built in keypad, but if that's impossible I can do without.

3_What screen resolution do you want?
1600x1200-ish

4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Desktop replacement that occasionally moves.

5_How much battery life do you need?
Minimal concern, it will be plugged in most of the time.

6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
This will be the primary use of the laptop, most common usage will likely be World of Warcraft, I am also a fan of FPS, and those are usually a bit more graphically intensive. Ultra settings on WoW are preferable, though I can reduce shadows if required, High on FPS games, if some settings must go to Med, so be it.

7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing, surfing the web, playing music, watching movies, Etc.)
Music I can do through headphones so speakers are not a priority. Websurfing will be done, most likely through a wireless connection so high speed wireless is mandatory. I'll be watching movies, depending on the price of BD drives these days I may be interested in that, but if that is excessively expensive I will forgo.

8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?
At least 250GB.

9_If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post the links to them.
I have been hearing good things from Dell recently, other than that I am not sure on the quality of various company's laptops. (primary reason for seeking advice)

10_How long do you want to keep your laptop?
Until it breaks, if past performance is any indication, I'll be using this laptop for at least 5-6 years, minor upgrades (RAM/GPU if possible) may be useful, but not required.

11_If you would like to mention some other things about purchasing your ideal laptop, post them.
I don't need showy, in fact the way everyone's shoving LED Highlighting all over the place is more annoying to me than attractive. I may be using it for work, so Biometric security would be a plus, but not required.
Essentially I am looking to get the best value for my money, not heading too far into diminishing returns territory on the high-end. I'd like it to come with Windows Vista + free upgrade to Windows 7.

12_Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons. Like I stated above, I have not bought a laptop in about 5 years, in the intervening time my father has purchased a Dell laptop he is quite satisfied with, I would prefer a name brand due to warranty reliability and ease of return/replacement should something become damaged.

13_What country do you live in?
USA, West Coast.

Thank you for reading, your opinions and assistance are most appreciated.

this isn't exactly the brand you're looking for, but it still looks pretty good
just an example,
http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Gamer_Xtreme_M1/
res is a bit higher though 1900x1200 instead of 1600x1200

For the money, I would either go with this: http://www.sagernotebook.com/produ [...] =customize

or this: http://www.sagernotebook.com/produ [...] =customize

Neither are flashy systems, but they both pack a wallop for being laptops.

edit: Or this one for that matter: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6834220576
