A colleague just returned from a visit to China. While there, he bought an 8Gig USB stick. And yes, it really reports 8 Gig of capacity when you plug it in. Not only that, it cost him around US$30. Now doing a Google search for 8G USB sticks, it would appear that such a thing doesn't even exist. Yet they are selling them in China for $30! WTF?!? I'm pissed! Why can't I buy one of these at Fry's right now? How can this stuff exist, and I haven't even seen a glimmer of a report in the tech press of such a thing? Am I just out of the loop? Have any Tom's folks heard of such a thing? Just curious.
idn, i read in magazines all the time that CHINA has tons of new stuff being made yrs in advance before it even comes over here.... cell phones are a big thing, in my MOBILE magazine they just had a huge article on a ton of new gagets comin out over here that china has had for some time now.
