Outlook always messes with my incoming mail (pop3) server. It changes it to "localhost" and puts what I had in there behind my user name. It's really anoying because I have to change it everytime I want to get my email. It does this on multiple computers and multiple MS OS's.

this behavior is normally not outlook, but your anti-virus email scan feature. If you turn off incoming email scan, the problem should stop.

here's a quote from usenet:
The fault doesn't lie within Outlook. The problem is you have an antivirus
or personal firewall solution installed that scans your POP mail. In order
to do this, the software has to modify the account settings in Outlook to
act as the go between. (LocalHost is your machine and the av/firewall is
acting as a go between.)
