i have a comcast cable box and i have a cable that runs from the box to a seperate tv but whatever shows on the main tv also shows on the other tv. how can i make it to where i can change the channel on the other tv without changing the channel on the main tv?

You either need to split your cable signal (not a good idea if you want to retain quality, or sign up for another account, at additional cost of course.

You will need another digital cable box to access all the channels on both sets. Splitting the cable will reduce the signal strength but if your 2nd TV has not got a QAM cable tuner built in you will get no channels, if it does then you will get some but not all.
