Music files corrupted!!

my music library used to work fine on my mp3 player. but not any more.
I scanned it with anti-virus and found a trojan. but still, it doesn't work after healing it.
the only way to make it play on mp3 player is to use a converter program which takes the audio stream and strips away anything else( deleting ID3 info).

is there anyway to fix this without using the converter?
