I have an xbox 360 Premium which i want to connect to a LCD Monitor. At the moment I'm looking at the Samsung 226BW which has a D-Sub and DVI input. I'll use the DVI for my graphics card and the D-Sub for the xbox.
Im going to buy this lead to connect to the monitor, but i'm confused about one (very) specific issue:
I obviously want to have sound, and the monitor doesnt seem to have a sound input. The VGA xbox lead has a D-Sub and left/right phono leads. I have a 2x Phono to 3.5mm Jack adaptor, but the jack is male and my PC speakers are male as well, so i dont know how to connect them.
However, i do have an X-Fi Xtreme Gamer (the cheap one) and this has 4 inputs. Would it be possible to plug in the jack from the phono adaptor into one of these, then plug my speakers into another one and have the sound come out of my pc speakers?
My current speakers comprises of a sub woofer and 2 stereo speakers. The stereo speakers plug into the sub woofer and the sub woofer has a male 3.5mm jack which i plug into my pc or ipod for sound.
To summarise: I need to get the sound from my xbox play through my speakers, but i dont have a phono input to plug in from the xbox cable. I have an x-fi xtreme gamer, but i dont know if that is of use. My speakers are as above, but i dont know how to plug in their jack into the phono adaptor, since they are both male.
