I have a Toshiba hdx82 50' t.v. About 3 months ago a problem developed.
When tv started up there was a lot of deflection and jumping and it took
about 5 mins. to settle. However when it did, the picture was o.k. but the vertical lines was distorted. It got worse , in that it took nearly 30 to 40 mins to settle.
Brought in a technician and he said that it was the scan modulator and charged me 380.00 to replace it. This included the cost of the part , plus 65.00 for home visit plus workmanship. I just wanted to know if this was a resonable transaction.
I live in Toronto Canada and the set is 5 years old.

My name is kevin.
