I recently built a new computer system with the following specs:
ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe Mobo Bios Rev. 1006
BFG 6800 ULTRA OC Pci-Express Graphics Card
1-Gig of Corsair Twinx1024-3200xlpro Memory
500Watt Mad Dog Power Supply
LiteOn DVD Combo Drive
74 Gig Western Digital Raptor Drive (SATA) 10,000 RPM
2x300Gig Maxtor Ultra/16 Drives raided together by a software raid.
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum
XP-120 CPU Heatsink and Panaflo 120mm Fan.
All of this is powered through a Back-Up APC UPS
Recently, I have been have a problem arise. I power down my system when it isn't in use. When I power my system back up. My CMOS resets itself causing my system not to boot until I go readjust the settings since my OS is on the RAID Drive. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing this and have any solutions as to how I might fix the problem?
Try replacing the CMOS battery. Settings "should" stick when the comp is still recieving power but I do recall that happening on my a7v133 years ago. Replaced the battery and all was well.
I'm going to go get a new battery tonight and see if it solves my problem. I'm pretty sure it probably will. I just wanted to see if anything else could be causing the problem.
