I am located in Seoul and want to mail order parts from American vendors after receiving sticker shock due to sky high prices here. My plan is to buy a MB, Processor, Video card and HDD and have them mailed over to me by a friend. If my budget for these items is <$400, what would you recommend for a processor? I was thinking I3 based on my readings and my interests in gaming without having to OC. My interest is to play Call of Duty type games on it with a 24" monitor. I was thinking of buying a Xfire capable MB and buying two cheaper video cards vs paying top dollar for the latest and greatest cards based on my budget constraints. Is this a good idea? Should I go for a hybrid HDD? They are super expensive here but I see they are less than $150 now on newegg. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

For gaming, you'd want an i5 system really not an i3, the i3 will be more limiting and will keep even good video cards from working their fullest. See here http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/fx-4100-core-i3-210..., as you can see moving video card speed did almost nothing with an i3 systems, means it's CPU limited. If you are buying the video cards new, I'd get a single card for the price of two slower ones. The slowest gaming card you'd want to get is about $80, for $160 you can get a lower mid-range card that will have less issues with setup and game compatibility.

Thanks for the sound advise. I think I will drop the hybrid HDD idea and invest the extra money in a processor!
