I'm having a problem with a PDF printer I have installed on my Windows 7 x64 system. Most of the time, maybe 80%, it prints just fine. Occasionally, however, it fails. Every single time it fails, the following error is logged, WORD FOR WORD, in the Event Viewer (I've separated each sentence for readability sake.):
The document XXX, owned by geo, failed to print on printer PageManager PDF Writer.
Try to print the document again, or restart the print spooler.
Data type: NT EMF 1.008.
Size of the spool file in bytes: 131072.
Number of bytes printed: 0.
Total number of pages in the document: 1.
Number of pages printed: 0.
Client computer: \\YYYY.
Win32 error code returned by the print processor: 2147500037. Unspecified error
The only thing that changes is the name of the file and the size.
Unfortunately, searching for this error number is somewhat futile, because someone else posted this error on Microsoft Answers, and the "response" was "Uninstall and reinstall your printer driver." ಠ_ಠ
Occasionally, in addition to this error, it will also cause the Spooler service to crash, so I have to go in and restart it.
What's especially weird about this problem is that it's specific to the DOCUMENT being printed! Once I see this error, I know for sure that I will NEVER be able to print this document using the PDF printer.
In general, the documents I'm printing are pages in Firefox, such as receipts for online purchases. Most work, some don't.
In one case, I even tried saving the page as HTML to my system. Even then it wouldn't print, so this is obviously not a network or connection problem!
There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the failure, and it's driving me crazy!!!
P.S. Could someone please tell me what "pt1cable" means?!? I tried looking it up, but to no avail.
