I'm new to sound systems, so please have patience. I have a 2 channel graphic EQ and 2 channel compressor and want to process the main mix and monitors. How can I run these to the main inserts? From where on the mixer do I get the inputs for the EQ and compressor?

You need an insert cable that has a 1/4" trs connector to plug into the whichever insert you use and splits to 2 ts connectors; one for the input and one for the output of your compressor/eq.
