Have a poweredge 2600 and was thinking of replacing its motherboard
and turning it into a gaming platform. Is this a realistic option ? Any
feedback on feasibility is appreciated! thanks

would probably be cheaper to build from scratch or use another case.

Ok, thanks. Since I had the case, was thinking I might be able
to use it rather than starting from scratch...

Cases can be one of the lower priced items in a build. You'd be better off getting a new case that's suitable to a build.

Try selling it on ebay or craigs list. You could get some $$ out of it to put into a new build.
