Pc wont boot cd drive light stays on

Hello,

I have a Dell PC im trying to fix for my grandmother. When you push power, you can hear the drives kick in and fans turn on, but no video and slave cd rom light stays on. Any ideas? I am suspecting a bad video card. I tried replacing RAM with some from another PC and same issue.

Do you hear the normal beep?

Try reseating the video card.

Did you verify that the RAM you put in from the other computer was compatible?
