Ok, so I probably screwed my iPod touch (1st Gen) when I installed new glass. I replaced the glass without much of a hitch (although all the glue was a pain in the ass). However, upon reassembly of the device, my iPod no longer charges or connects via USB to the computer.
It's an interesting dilema that has me stumped. I've tried multiple computers just to rule out an coincidences - same result. It seems I have messed something up. Everything works perfectly, minus the fact that I can no longer charge it (even with just the charger) or connect it to itunes.
I reset the settings on the iPod, no dice.
I should add that, when I plug it into a charger, it lights up the device, and "turns it on." It just doesn't charge or read anything, which tells me that it knows the cord is plugged in, it just could care less, lol.
Any suggestions? Anyone out there ever ran into this situation?
