About two months ago, I purchased a P-7805u notebook from bestbuy online for 1200$. The laptop had cooling issues, so I had to return it. I got a new p-7805u about 23 days ago, and it was working fine. However, after 16 or so days I decided I did not want it because of several reasons:
1) It's way too heavy.
2) It came with a broken keyboard (that takes 2 weeks to replace through bestbuy). Also, the control and fn keys are swapped.
3) It freezes after 5 minutes or so (the time it takes is relatively random). The cursor still moves, but nothing opens up and I have to restart the computer.
4) An overall feeling of distrust and hate towards my laptop, and I doubt it every time I try to do something.
I realize that it was my fault for not realizing how heavy it was. If I can only fix the problem of it freezing, it would be worth keeping the laptop.
Eventually, however, I think I am going to switch it out. But you see, best buy's return policy is screwed up. You only have 14 days to return it, and you apparently have to have the right conditions on your warranty. I bought the 350$ warranty for my laptop, but it was a "service plan"warranty, so they can only do service on it. So in order to get a new laptop, it has to be broken.
Which leads me to ask...whats the best way to "accidentally" break a laptop? The manager at the best buy said it had to be over 1000$ in damage before the main best buy center would consider replacing it. If it helps, the laptop I want to replace this one with is http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspag [...] 100581211.
So how can I fix my laptop, and if I cant how can I break it?
P.S.
The laptop I want to get has a core 2 duo, but it is only 1.4Ghz. It was classified under "gaming laptops". Will the processor be enough for simple games like civ4 and c&c? What about games like call of duty 4?
