I have a dell dimension 2400 built in 2004, that when you start it up, beepers go off like crazy and the diagnostic lights keep switching between gyyg and gggy and the bios freezing 7/8 through loading. If you hit f2 to enter bios, then esc to exit, the computer will boot just fine into windows and work.

Try using a single RAM chip at a time in each slot.

Ahhh thats weird. Once out of two times I started it, it booted right into windows....If it works in windows, wouldn't that mean both RAM sticks are working?

Not necessarily. You could have a flaky chip.

You can try running memtest on them. Let it run overnight and see what it comes up with.
