What are the basic configuration on a live mix

I play in a a band and, just purchase a Pro Tools set up. I will not be recording any longer on my DM24. So I would like to take this mixer on the road with my band, it has been very stable for me in the studio why buy another mixer for live performances when I have a DM24 laying around.

So My question; What is the basic configuration that I would use
Basicly running my mains and monitors, like a regular mixing board?

Do I use my Sends for the monitors and, My Stero outputs for the mains. I need advise, as far as figuring the setting I can find those but i bit confused on the basic live hook up?
