Dual Layer Media

It's been a while now and DL DVD media is still barely available and costs about $6 a disk making it completely stupid.

I can see the marketing strategy involved here but are they ever going to release DL media at reasonable and cost effective prices?

I feel your pain...I'm sitting here with two dual layer burners myself...
I wonder if the manufacturers are somewhat reluctant to commit to the dual layer in a big way because of disks with even more layers on the horizon...

I'm getting to the point where I have too much media to sort through. I finally got rid of my zip drive and disks but I'm sitting here with 600MB-800MB CD's (some that are burned at 2x and suck), CD-RW's, and now DVD's. I wouldn't mind being able to consolidate it all on DL discs.

I'm sitting here on my dislodged seat wishing I'd chosen a different career and that someone would give me a dual-layer burner so I could complain about media pricing as well!
