This is the first time I've built a computer from scratch, and I'm building several at once so I can't mess up. Could someone tell me if these parts will all work?

Looks pretty good to me. About the only issue you might run into is that power supply being insufficient. If you have any issues with the system that would be the first thing to replace. If you want to go for a better one now just get a 400+ watt Fortron source or sparkle (same company) psu.
What about optical drives?

The tower comes with a 420W PSU, you don't think that'll work? My comp looks pretty similar to that one, except a much bigger HDD, and it runs fine on a 250W(I think) PSU.

And here's the other stuff:

There's a reason that board is cheap: It uses a turd for a chipset.

You could get an Abit IS7-E2 for only a few dollars more, but if you can afford it, I'd choose the full version IS7 instead.

That CPU runs VERY HOT, I'd recommend an Athlon 64 but you seem to already have your mind made up. Even with a P4, I'd recommend a 3.0C rather than a 3.0E, but again, you seem to have your mind made up.

I don't really have my mind set on a P4 system, it was basically a coin toss between P and Athlon, since I don't have a preference.

That IS7 mobo is a socket 478, what's a good mobo for a socket 754 Ath64 that's also compatible with all the parts I listed earlier? I'm lookin at <A HREF="http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=80701-R" target="_new">This</A> one, is it reasonably cool? Oh, and it also needs onboard audio, I'm on a budget for these computers.

That's a good CPU, yes.

<A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-135-151&depa=0" target="_new">This is the cheapest A64 board I can recommend</A>

Of course that's a different seller, so <A HREF="http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=241581" target="_new">Here's a better board from ZipZoomFly</A>, and then again, <A HREF="http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=246555" target="_new">Here's another</A>

And you already have my P4 board recommendations.

Ok, thanks for the info. I'm glad you pointed that out, now that I'm going with an Athlon system, I'm getting a better mobo and processor for cheaper than the P4. I hope this works :p
