No sound sort of???

I have just got a new PC, this has a Asus Motherboard P5QL which has onboard sound, using the VIA HD Audio Deck.

I also have a ATI 4870 Graphics card in my PC.

The Problem.

I can get sound, for emails, warnigs etc, and if I move the volume slider I get the ding sound. However I have no audio when I try and play a movie file or audio file, avi, mp3 etc.


When I hover over the specker icon it states : ATI Driver for High Definition Audio - ATI AA01

I have noticed when I click on volume mixer > device that I have Speakers (VIA High Definition Audio)

Anyone have any Ideas how I can have sound all the time, and be able to hear movies and Mp3's etc

Any help would be most welcome.
